  1. What is this Privacy Policy and why does Unify have it? Unifylegal Inc. (“Unify”, “We” “Us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it.This policy describes the information we may collect from you when you visit unifylegal.com or interact with us, other users or our vendors (together, “Site” or “Service”). It also describes how we collect, use, maintain, protect and disclose your information. If you do not agree with this policy, you should not use our Site. By using the Site, you agree to this policy. This policy may change from time to time. Your continued use of this Site after we make changes means you accept those changes. We will notify you by email of any material changes we make to this policy.
  1. Does Unify sell user information or allow third parties to use it for advertising? No, we use your information only to facilitate your use of the Site.
  1. How old does a user of the Site need to be? We do not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a person under 18, we may delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about a person under 18, please email support@unifylegal.com.
  1. What information does Unify collect and how is it collected?
    (a) With your explicit consent, we collect information that may identify you. This includes, when you register as a user of the Site by submitting a request for proposal (“RFP”), an attorney profile or a proposal, we may collect your name, postal address, email address, telephone number, social security number, professional experience and education, bank account or other payment details and copies of identification such as passports (“personal information“). This also includes when you provide feedback on your experience with the Site. (b) We also collect information that is about you but does not identify you. This includes, for example, when you make a payment through the Site, we may collect the amount paid or received or the types of services received or provided. (c) As you navigate the Site, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions and patterns, including (i) details of your visits to our Site, including traffic data, location data, logs and other communication data and the resources that you access and use on the Site and (ii) information about your computer and internet connection, including your IP address, operating system and browser type. (d) The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include: (i) Cookies (or browser cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our Site. (e) We do not collect personal Information automatically, but we may tie this information to personal information about you that we collect from other sources or you provide to us. (f) Third-party Use of Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies. (i) Some content or applications, including advertisements, on the Site are served by third-parties, including advertisers, ad networks and servers, content providers and application providers. These third parties may use cookies alone or in conjunction with web beacons or other tracking technologies to collect information about you when you use our Site. The information they collect may be associated with your personal information or they may collect information, including personal information, about your online activities over time and across different Sites and other online services. They may use this information to provide you with interest-based (behavioral) advertising or other targeted content. (ii) We do not control these third parties’ tracking technologies or how they may be used.   1. How does Unify use your information? We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any personal information: (a) To present our Site and its contents to you; (b) To provide you with information, products or services that you request from us, for example, for the opening of accounts with third parties to facilitate payment of services procured through the Site; (c) To fulfill any other purpose for which you provide it; (d) To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including for billing and collection; (e) To notify you about changes to our Site or any products or services we offer or provide though it; (f) To allow you to participate in interactive features on our Site; and (g) For any other purpose with your written and explicit consent.
  1. How does Unify transfer or disclose your information?
    (a) We may disclose aggregated information about our users, and information that does not identify any individual, without restriction. (b) By using the Site you explicitly agree that we may transfer or disclose your personal information: (i) To the lawyer users of this site to facilitate a RFP, which would include any proof of address or identity or other on-boarding information you provide us; (ii) To the client users of this site to facilitate a Proposal; (iii) To our subsidiaries and affiliates (“Affiliates”) to facilitate your use of the Site; (iv) To contractors, service providers and other third parties (“Third Party Vendors”) we use to support the Site and our business (for example, banks, payment platforms, foreign exchange firms, cloud storage providers, telecommunications providers and website hosting providers) and who are bound by contractual or professional obligations to keep personal information confidential and use it only to facilitate your use of the Site; (v) To fulfill the purpose for which you provide it. For example, if you give us contact details to provide to another user of the Site, we will transmit the those contact details to the other user; (vi) To fulfill our contractual obligations to you under our terms of use for the Site; (vii) With your explicit written consent; and (viii) To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution or other sale or transfer of some or all of Unify’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by Unify about our Site users is among the assets transferred, provided the buyer or successor agrees to this privacy policy or one substantially similar. (c) We may also disclose your personal information: (i) To comply with any court order, law or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request; (ii) To enforce or apply our terms of use of this Site and other agreements, including for billing and collection purposes; and (iii) If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of Unify, our customers or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction. (d) You acknowledge and explicitly agree that we, our Affiliates and Third Party Vendors are located both in and outside the European Union, and that by agreeing to the this Privacy Policy, you allow your information to be transferred outside the European Union and to countries that may not have adequate measures to protect your personal information.
  1. What choices do you have about how we use and disclose your information?
    (a) Promotional Offers from Unify. We use your personal information only to facilitate your use of the Site and to send you updates on the services that we offer. If you do not wish to have your contact information used by Unify to promote our own products or services, you can opt-out by contacting support@unifylegal.com. This opt out does not apply to information provided to Unify as a result of a product purchase, warranty registration, product service experience or other transactions. (b) Tracking Technologies. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. To learn how you can manage your Flash cookie settings, visit the Flash player settings page on Adobe’s Site. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of this site may then be inaccessible or not function properly. (c) We do not control third parties’ collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising. However these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. You can opt out of receiving targeted ads from members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI“) on NAI’s Site.
  1. How can you access and correct your information?
    (a) You can review and change your personal information by logging into the Site and visiting your account profile page. (b) You may also send us an e-mail at support@unifylegal.com to request access to, correct or delete any personal information that you have provided to us. We cannot delete your personal information except by also deleting your user account. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.
  1. What rights do California users have? Your California Privacy Rights California Civil Code Section § 1798.83 permits users of our Site that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.   1. What data security has Unify implemented?
    (a) We have implemented measures through recognized third party vendors designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration and disclosure. All information you provide to us is stored on secure servers behind firewalls. Any payment transactions will be encrypted using SSL technology. (b) The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone. (c) Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our Site. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Site.
